You were created to be part of God’s family.
God created you to be in relationship with him. There is a hunger and emptiness that can never be filled apart from relationship with God, your creator. It’s not a mistake. He created you that way. You were hard-wired for relationship. He loves you and wants to have an intimate relationship with you.
The reality is, that may not be your experience right now. But that can change. There is a way for you to live your life as God intended—in close relationship with Him. Continue reading below to find out how to know Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Our sin separates us from God
God created the world and everything in it and He declared ‘It is Good!’
He gave man freewill to choose to obey Him but man chose to disobey and to do what he wanted.
His disobedience brought death into a perfect world and separation from a relationship with his Creator.
That is why the world is so broken today – suffering, sickness, death and sadness – and separation from God.
‘for the wages of sin is death’
R O M A N S 3 : 2 3
Jesus is the remedy.
Man tries everything to remedy the situation himself
- By creating religions and working hard to appease the false gods he has made up
- By influencing governments and hoping for a political solution
- By trying to forget about the problems by giving himself over to sensuality, materialism, drugs, alcohol or becoming a workaholic.
Man’s ways do not work-they never have and never will. They are only temporary distractions from the real issue. There is only one possible way to remedy the curse we are living under and only God can do it.
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end is the way of death.”
P R O V E R B S 16 : 2 5
God loves you so much, He took your punishment
God loved the world He created so much that He sent His only begotten Son from Heaven to become a man. Jesus was perfect and without sin of any kind.
He came to earth to teach us about God’s kingdom and about the great love He has for us . He came to show the path to restoration and abundant life.
Then He willingly allowed Himself to be nailed to a Roman cross. He took your sin and mine on Himself. You and I were condemned because of our own disobedience toward God but Jesus took the punishment we deserved when He died in our place.
“for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.”
J O H N 3 : 1 6
Jesus is the only way to eternal life
Now—because of what Jesus has done for us—everyone with a repentant heart, who humbly calls on His name for forgiveness and follows Him by faith, will receive the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life from our gracious God.
Those who continue to choose their own path and reject His goodness do not have forgiveness and will one day face the wrath of God for their ungratefulness.
Those that do receive Jesus Christ as their Savior are saved completely and one day—when Jesus returns from Heaven as He promised—He will restore this broken world into the magnificent creation He originally intended.
In the meantime, we can have a personal relationship with the living God through the Lord Jesus. He comes to live in us through His Spirit and will give us the ability to overcome the trials of this world until He returns. He gives us power over temptation and works inside us to change us into His likeness as we trust Him by faith each day and rely on the promises in His Word – the Holy Bible.
“…we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
R O M A N S 5 : 1
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
R O M A N S 8 : 1
You can have a new life in Christ right now
Have you ever called on the Lord through prayer and asked Him to forgive your sin and to come into your life to be your Lord and Savior?
You can do that right now—wherever you are. Just bow before him in humility and ask Him to forgive you and to come in and live in you. He is pleased to answer your prayer—that’s why He came.
If you did that sincerely, you are now adopted into God’s family. Tell a friend and your family about the decision you made to follow and trust Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Pray to Him each day. Read the Bible, starting in the New Testament and commit to obey Him as you learn about His will for your life. Find a Christian Church that teaches the Bible. They will help you to grow and will introduce you to others who can help you learn more about following Jesus.
We would also love to hear about your decision and will pray for you and send you some materials to help you grow in Jesus. Please contact us to let us know all about it.
Remember—God’s ways are always right and you will be blessed as you trust and obey. God bless you!
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”
